Psittacus High Energy Maintenance Formula – for African Greys, Macaws, Senegals

This product is intended for species that in wild consume a significant amount of seeds from oil-rich plants such as African Greys, Macaws and Sengels (Psittacus, Ara, Poicephalus, etc.).  Maintenance Formulas are ideal for pet birds and breeding birds outside of the breeding season. Their composition meets the nutritional requirements of birds at these times.

Directions for use

It is designed to constitute 100% of the parrot’s diet in non-reproductive periods. However, if fresh fruit and vegetables are provided daily to lend variety to the diet, we recommend that Psittacus should constitute no less than 70-80% of the total intake. No vitamin or mineral supplements should be given to parrots whose basic principal food is Psittacus. It is appropriate to renew food and water daily. Store in a cool dry place after opening (while refrigeration is not advised, freezing is possible if it is hermetically sealed).

Daily intake

Birds consumption varies between 5% and 8% of body weight. Medium sized species (for example, African Grey) consume around 20-40 g per day.

Cereal grains, products and by-products of oil seeds and fruits, legume seeds, vegetable oils, fructose, dried brewer’s yeast, minerals, inulin (0.05%)

Mixture of flavouring compounds, rosemary extract (contains yucca extract 0.015%) / Sepiolite / Tocopherol-rich extracts of natural origin, palmitoyl-6- ascorbic acid / Compounds of trace elements (ferrous chelate, cupric chelate, manganese chelate, zinc chelate; calcium iodate anhydrous and hydroxy-analogue of selenomethionine) / Vitamins, pro-vitamins and chemically well-defined substances having similar effects (A, D3, E, C, K, B1, B2, B6, B12, Pantothenic acid, Niacin, Folic acid, Biotin, Choline chloride, B-carotene, Betaine anhydrous)
